Ashinaga’s summer camps are known as tsudoi, which means “gathering” in Japanese. These camp programs are an opportunity for healing and emotional care for high school and university participants.
Ashinaga’s high school tsudoi, which is held across 8 locations every summer, as well as university students tsudoi, usually held in September, have both been canceled this year due to the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic. This was an incredibly difficult decision to make, and we recognize that this news maybe disappointing for many of our students as well as tsudoi volunteers; however, we sincerely hope to see you next year.
Despite the cancellation of our summer tsudoi, we have launched Ashinaga BASE—an online platform for Ashinaga high school students to keep in touch, stay informed about universities, and foster a sense of community online. From July 2020, Ashinaga BASE will be used to disseminate important information via its exclusive web portal for high school students as well as through various social media platforms. Additionally, there will be ample opportunity for community building and consultations through online events.
For any questions regarding the cancellation of tsudoi or Ashinaga BASE, please contact
